I.What Cookies Are

Small files placed on a device to let a site function properly and to remember a visitor between one page and the next.

II.Essential Cookies

These keep a session open, hold an application form in progress, and record a visitor’s cookie choices. They cannot be declined without the site ceasing to work.

III.Preference Cookies

These remember settings such as the last month viewed in the calendar. They may be declined without loss of function.

IV.Measurement

   The Court uses Meta’s measurement tools to record visits to the site and what is done on them, including whether an application, a proposal or a request to be written to was sent, and the contact details given in an application or a request to be written to, in encoded form. These set cookies named _fbp and _fbc, which Meta keeps for ninety days, and which share the visit with Meta, including through the Court’s own server, for the purpose of measuring the Court’s advertising. Measurement is on unless a visitor turns it off in Cookie Preferences, and turning it off stops it and clears its cookies. For visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Union and Switzerland, measurement is kept only if chosen.

   Under the same choice, the Court uses Google Analytics to count visits, the pages seen, and whether an application, a proposal or a card was sent. Google receives no name, email address or city, and the addresses it is given carry no particulars. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_SB3HSVSEM2, which last thirteen months. Turning measurement off in Cookie Preferences stops it and clears them.    The Court keeps no measurement of its visitors beyond what is described above.
